About This Plant

The Munstead English Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia 'Munstead') is a compact, bushy cultivar known for its fragrant, drought-resistant qualities. Ideal for containers, hedges, or knot gardens, it thrives in full sun and well-drained soil. This Angustifolia variety was introduced by Gertrude Jekyll in 1916 and is valued for color retention in dried arrangements and its pollinator-attracting blooms. It is rabbit and deer resistant and performs well in hot, dry conditions once established.
