About This Plant
Obedient Plant (Physostegia virginiana) is a native perennial wildflower known for upright spikes of pink to lavender flowers that bloom from mid to late summer. The flowers are nectar-rich and attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. The plant grows best in moist to average, well-drained soil and reaches about 3–4 feet tall. It spreads slowly by underground rhizomes, making it suitable for filling space in garden areas with moisture.
